Common questions from Dallas families
We live in Oak Cliff — can services be held on our side of the river?
Yes. Many Oak Cliff and South Dallas families prefer a service south of the Trinity River — commonly at their home parish, at Laurel Land's chapel, or at a Bishop Arts area church. We handle transport across the river without adding to the price, and drive time from our operations base runs about 25 to 35 minutes depending on I-35E traffic.
My mother passed at a Preston Hollow assisted-living facility. How does that work?
Most Preston Hollow and Park Cities assisted-living communities (Belmont Village, The Legacy at Willow Bend area, Edgemere, Presbyterian Village North, and others) have established transfer protocols. We coordinate directly with the facility's on-call nurse, the attending physician for the death pronouncement, and — if applicable — hospice. Families do not need to be on-site when we arrive.
Is there a wait time before cremation in Dallas?
Yes. Texas law requires a minimum 48-hour wait after death before cremation (22 TAC § 203.45 and Tex. Health & Safety Code § 716.054), and a signed cremation authorization from the legal next of kin. In Dallas County, if the Medical Examiner takes jurisdiction, we cannot proceed until their office issues a release, which typically adds one to three days.
Do you handle transport if our loved one passed outside of Dallas?
Yes. We coordinate out-of-state and international shipping into and out of DFW and Love Field for Dallas families. Common routes include transfers to and from Mexico (with consular paperwork), the Northeast corridor, California, and the Philippines, India, and Vietnam. Pricing is quoted separately based on the destination, airline, and container requirements.
What if we need bilingual (Spanish or another language) service?
Bilingual English–Spanish service is available at every step, from the first call through the arrangement conference, contracts, and the service itself. For other languages common in Dallas — Vietnamese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu — we bring in trusted community interpreters and coordinate with the appropriate faith community. There is no additional charge for interpretation.
