Call Now — Answered Live 24/7 Plan the Farewell

One package. Everything a farewell needs.

Optional — Witnessed Start of Cremation · $295

Some faiths ask for it; some families simply want to be present. Up to four witnesses may accompany your loved one at the start of the cremation. Subject to crematory availability and policies — tell us on the first call and we arrange it.

What the Farewell is

After the cremation is complete, your family gathers in our private chapel — just your people, with up to two hours reserved so nothing feels hurried. Your loved one's urn is present. Bring photographs, play their music, have someone speak or have no one speak. A member of our staff receives your family, seats everyone, and then gives you the room.

It is intimate and private, and it is small on purpose — like a micro wedding, it keeps the people who matter and the moments that matter, and lets go of everything else. No procession, no production, no pressure to perform your grief in front of a crowd.

And because it is simple, it is affordable. Packaging the cremation and the chapel farewell together is exactly how we keep the price at $1,950 — bundling is the honest way to discount, and the whole number is published where anyone can read it.

Who chooses the Farewell

Families who chose cremation but want more than paperwork and a phone call. Out-of-town family flying in who need a time and a place to say goodbye together. Hospice families who said their goodbyes over months and want one more, unhurried, together. If that sounds like your family, this was built for you.

The honest middle of our menu

Vargas-London publishes every package price. The Farewell sits exactly where DFW families told us something was missing — a real farewell, without the cost of a full service.

Our published packages, side by side. Full details on the pricing page.
Package What your family gets Price
Direct Cremation A dignified cremation — no gathering $1,750
The Vargas Farewell Cremation + a private chapel farewell, up to two hours reserved $1,950
Memorial Cremation Private viewing of your loved one before cremation + full memorial service $4,995

For $200 more than a direct cremation, your family gets a place, a time, and each other. That is the entire idea.

Planning ahead for someone in hospice?

You can plan the Farewell now — names, music, who will be in the room — with no payment required to plan ahead. Nothing is owed until services are actually needed. Many hospice families tell us the planning call itself brought them peace. And if your loved one is under hospice care, our price-lock guarantee applies: the price we quote is the price you pay, even if pricing rises later.

Life insurance

Have life insurance? We file directly with the carrier — most families pay nothing out of pocket today. Bring the policy number, or even just the company name, and we handle the filing.

Questions families ask about the Farewell

Is $1,950 really the whole price?

Yes — the cremation, the chapel, the staff, and everything listed above, in one published package price. The only additional amounts are pass-through charges we forward without markup (additional certified death certificates at $4 each, medical examiner fees where a county requires them) and the optional witnessed start of cremation at $295. Your exact total is confirmed in writing before you owe anything.

How long is the farewell gathering?

Up to two hours is reserved in our private chapel for your family. Most families use about an hour; the room is yours either way, and nobody will hurry you out of it.

Can we see our loved one before the cremation?

The Farewell gathering itself takes place after the cremation, with the urn present. If being there matters to your family, add the witnessed start of cremation — up to four witnesses, $295. If you want a private viewing of your loved one before cremation, our Memorial Cremation package includes one; we will tell you honestly which fits.

What can we bring?

Photographs, flowers, music, a written remembrance to read or simply silence — the chapel and the time are yours. Our staff can play your music and display your photos; just bring them, or send them ahead.

Can we hold the Farewell on a weekend?

Usually, yes. We schedule Farewells seven days a week, subject to the chapel calendar. Tell us what your family needs on the first call and we will give you real options.

What about an urn?

The package includes a temporary container for your loved one's remains. Many families already have an urn in mind or choose one later — our urn collection is published with prices, and there is never any pressure to upgrade.

What if we want a bigger service later?

A memorial or celebration of life can happen anytime — weeks or months from now, at a church, a home, or our chapel. The Farewell now closes no doors later.

Some goodbyes don't need a crowd. They need the right people.

Call and ask anything about the Farewell — the chapel, the schedule, the price. No sales pitch, no pressure, and a real person answers any hour, in English or Spanish.
