With profound sadness and immeasurable love, we celebrate the life and cherish the memory of Acacia Donyell Reid, affectionately known as “Kay,” who departed this life on October 9, 2026, at the age of 29 in Dallas, Texas.
Born on December 31, 1996, to Marilyn LaShaun Moore and Bobby Norman Reid, Acacia was raised in Garland, Texas, where her bright spirit, loving heart, and beautiful smile quickly became her signature. She graduated from Lakeview Centennial High School in 2015 and continued her education at Eastfield Community College. Throughout her life, Acacia embraced every opportunity to grow, learn, and create a future filled with purpose for herself and those she loved.
Acacia was a dedicated insurance agent who worked hard to provide for her family, but she was so much more than her profession. She was creative, stylish, and full of life. Whether she was doing hair, perfecting makeup, putting together the perfect outfit, or helping someone else feel beautiful, she had a gift for expressing herself and inspiring confidence in those around her. She carried herself with grace, confidence, and authenticity, always leaving a lasting impression.
While Acacia accomplished many things in her lifetime, nothing meant more to her than being a mother. Her daughters, Leilah and Allure, were the center of her world. She loved them fiercely, protected them endlessly, and dreamed of all the wonderful things life would bring them. Her love for her children was pure, unwavering, and evident in everything she did.
To know Acacia was to know warmth, laughter, and genuine love. She treasured her family and looked forward to every gathering, every celebration, and every moment spent with those she held dear. She had a way of making people feel welcome, supported, and valued. Her energy was contagious, her smile unforgettable, and her heart always open.
Acacia was the kind of person who showed up for the people she loved. She was a devoted daughter, a proud mother, a caring niece, a loyal cousin, and a faithful friend. She was the person who could make you laugh when you wanted to cry and offer encouragement when you felt defeated. Her presence was a gift.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edward and Peggy Lee Johnson; her uncle, Phillip Cory Johnson; her paternal great-grandmother, Norma Scott Reid; and her grandfather, Charles Emerald Williams.
Acacia leaves behind to treasure her memory her beloved daughters, Leilah Summers and Allure Smith; her loving mother, Marilyn LaShaun Moore of Dallas, Texas; her father, Bobby Reid of Los Angeles, California; her grandmother, Terri Britton of Los Angeles, California; her uncle, Marcus Johnson of Amarillo, Texas; her aunt, Shamara Moore of Dallas, Texas; her aunt, Kenzi Tielle Britton of Los Angeles, California; along with countless cousins, relatives, and friends whose lives were forever changed by knowing her.
Although our hearts are broken by her absence, we are grateful for the love, joy, and memories she gave us. Acacia’s life reminds us that a person’s impact is not measured by the number of years they live, but by the love they leave behind. Her spirit lives on through her children, through the lessons she taught us, through every smile she inspired, and through every heart she touched.
We do not simply mourn Acacia’s passing. We celebrate her life. We celebrate her laughter, her strength, her beauty, her resilience, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Though we wish we had more time, we find comfort in knowing that she will forever remain part of us.
Kay, your love will never fade, your memory will never be forgotten, and your light will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know you. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
