Pet Cremation — Options and Aftercare

Private vs. communal cremation, urn options, ash-return timelines, and how pet aftercare fits into a home already grieving another loss.

For families saying goodbye to a companion

Losing a pet is often the first funeral experience many households ever plan — and sometimes it happens in the same season as a human loss, which is why families reach out to us directly. Vargas-London is not a pet crematory. What we do is coordinate the pet cremation through a licensed local partner so a family who already trusts us with a human arrangement does not have to interview a second, unfamiliar provider during a hard week.

Two paths cover the vast majority of pet cremations: private cremation, where your pet is cremated individually and the ashes returned to you, usually in three to seven business days; and communal cremation, where multiple pets are cremated together and ashes are not returned. Private cremation is what most families choose when they want an urn, a paw-print keepsake, or the option to scatter later; communal is the lower-cost option when a family does not intend to keep the remains. Prices are set by our partner crematory, not by Vargas-London, and are quoted directly at the time of arrangement. Pickup from a veterinary hospital, private residence, or emergency clinic is usually included.

For urns, keepsake jewelry, and paw-print or nose-print memorials, families can use the same catalog we offer human families — smaller-capacity urns work well for cats, small dogs, and birds; medium and large urns cover most dogs. We are happy to help select an urn that will sit meaningfully in the home.
